Very interesting read. I am a bit worried about this though. I am very passionate about face to face human contact. With that said, I can see the benefits to virtual classrooms and online courses.
Most of us who really use virtual environments agree that face to face is the best, except when you want to do something that is impossible face to face. Like someone in Toronto taking a university course in Australia while keeping a job. It is a good extension, but never a replacement. :)
